Format Painter

If you want to easily copy formatting in a spreadsheet or document, Format Painter is your answer. You can copy the formatting from one cell, word or paragraph and apply it to unformatted text. This is great when you are combining text from different sources and want to format it into a single document. Watch the video below for a quick tutorial on how to us Format Painter.

The Repeat Command

The Repeat command (Ctrl+Y) repeats the last single edit made in an a spreadsheet or document. For instance, if you change the font color of a word to red, simply move the cursor to another word in your document, and use Ctry+Y. The font for that word will change to red.

To use Repeat to duplicate multiple commands, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+1 to bring up the Format Cells dialog box. Make all of your editing choices and click OK. Now when you highlight another field and Repeat with Ctrl+Y, it will repeat all of the changes made on the format menu as if it were a single change. This is a great time saver. Give it a try.
